International Day For Monuments and Sites, also known as World Heritage Day is celebrated every year on 18th April. The theme for 2022 is entitled “Heritage and Climate”.

International Council on Monuments and Sites, a professional association that works for the conservation and protection of cultural heritage places, proposed to celebrate 18 April as World Heritage Day. The proposal was approved by the UNESCO General Assembly in 1983.

The objective is to create awareness and the importance of protecting diversity in cultural heritage of humanity. Great efforts are required to maintain and protect our heritage. The day spreads information relating to the need to safeguard and protect our hertiage for the coming generations.
